WORKSTUDY: PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Program Overview:
During the summer of 2016, Vietnamese Culture & Science Association will deliver the following programs:
- Supporting tasks for the National Youth Leadership Development Camp Len Duong 2016 to be held
- VCSA 20 th Annual Youth Excellence Recognition Luncheon in early August.
- Fund Raising program for VCSA for the VCSA 25 th Anniversary Gala.

VCSA will have an internship position of Program coordinator to support the coordination activities for the programs above. The intern will be working full-time 35 hours/week for 10 weeks (June 5 – August 18)

Key Outcomes and Responsibilities
 Assisting the project leads to organize and plan for events
 Assist in the logistic planning for any events held by VCSA
 Assist with administrative support tasks for VCSA Center operations.

Essential Qualifications and Key Competencies:
 Has experience working with youth, fluent in verbal Vietnamese is specially preferred.
 Has experience in non-profit management work and volunteer experience with VCSA.
 Be open to Vietnamese traditions and values
 Excellent communication skills
 Organizational skills and flexible in assigned tasks.
 Can effectively work independently and as a team member
 Has reliable transportation or is proficient in using public transportation).

Terms of Employment: This is a full-time summer internship (June 6 – August 18, 2016)

 Internship stipend: $1000 (at the end of the internship)
 Gain skills in program planning, development, evaluation. Develop teaching and public presentation skills.
 Receive regular bi-weekly mentor-ship from VCSA Board.
 Receive training classes in fund raising planning for non-profit, leadership training on conflict resolution, communication and project planning.
 Tap into the national network of VCSA national and international charity projects both in the United States, Canada and Vietnam.
