What: VCSA Scholarship Contest
Awards: Eight (8) $500 individual scholarships and certificates; Two (2) of which are specific to campers from Minnesota, USA.
Deadline: April 7th, 2011 11:59 pm CST

Eligibility Criteria:

• ONLY College students or high school seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4-point scale may apply
• Must plan to attend Len Duong Camp 2011 to accept the award
• Must be currently active in a Vietnamese community organization or Vietnamese Student Association

Purpose:

To encourage participation of Vietnamese-American/Canadian students in volunteerism in the local Vietnamese communities, VCSA will award Eight (8) $500.00 scholarships to outstanding young community activists who want to attend Len Duong Camp 2011 and need financial assistance.

Application Requirements:

1. Complete and submit a scholarship application (click HERE to download form)
2. Submit a personal resume demonstrating leadership ability and current active involvement with the community
3. Submit a brief statement of your expectation of Camp Len Duong 2011
4. Submit a personal essay that answers the following questions:
   • What does Vietnam mean to you?
   • Why are you active with the Vietnamese community
   • How do you plan to contribute to Vietnam in the future?

Application Submission:

After completing all the application requirements, submit all documentation as individual attachments in one (1) email to VCSA-Scholarships@vcsa.org with subject heading: “Your Last Name – 2011 VCSA Scholarship Contest.” Hard copies will not be accepted.

All scholarship winners will be announced and recognized at Len Duong Camp. Winning entries may also be published in the Len Duong Camp program book

*NOTE: All submitted material must be the original work of the applicant. Entries must not be plagiarized, published work, or used in a previous submission for this, or any other contest. Any suspicious entries will be automatically disqualified.
