Upon request from the Office of the US Ambassador in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Culture and Science Association (VCSA), in collaboration with the Vietnamese Community in Houston and Vicinity (VNCH), will host a meeting dinner with the Honorable Michael Michalak, US Ambassador to Vietnam from 6:30PM-9:00PM on June 10, 2008 at Kim Son Restaurant, 2001 Jefferson, Houston, TX 77003. The purpose of the meeting is for Ambassador Michalak to share his points of view to and receive inputs and concerns from the Vietnamese Americans in Houston on the current issues in Vietnam.

I. Purpose
To assist and encourage students of Vietnamese descent to excel in scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, and community involvement, especially to those who have significant financial need.

II. Outlines

• Greatland Investment Group will award $1000.00 scholarship to graduating high school students who maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA, and have significant financial need.

The Vietnamese Culture and Science Association (VCSA) and the LePham family are pleased to invite applicants for the 2008 Nicholas C. LePham Citizenship and Public Service Award. The LePham family and committee is looking to award this scholarship to an aspiring Vietnamese-American student who is able to demonstrate strong civic participation and active citizenship within the community. Changes and improvements can only take place when future leaders organize within the community to address problems.
